on VAT and Press Conference
A Press Conference was held at 1430
hours on Saturday, the 29th January 2005 by All Bengal Electronic
& Accessories Manufacturer's Association at the Auditorium
of Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Kolkata
to highlight Government action to rationalize the Sales Tax
structure for the Industry. It was to enunciate the Press
and media about the initiative of the association and subsequent
positive step by the government. Mr. Rajiv Poddar, Vice President
briefed the press about the matter and highlighted the need
of appreciation to government. |

Later,
a seminar on VAT was held at 3 pm where Saugata Bhattacharya,
Deputy Commissioner Sales Tax and Khalid Anwar, Commercial
Tax Officer, Govt. of WB, gave electronic presentation on
the nature and utilities of Value Added Tax. Miss. Rimi Sinha,
Commercial Tax Officer also took part in the interactive session
when these officials exchanged views and opinions with the
members present and quenched their thirst on the parameters
of VAT that is being introduced from April 01, 2005. The meet
ended with Vote of Thanks and High Tea. |
